Catch Me on Lust & Tarot Tonight!

I’m starting a new online radio show called Lust and Tarot! This will be the official blog for the show. I’ll be posting about upcoming episodes, as well as adding the podcasts from previous shows. The purpose of the show is to help empower people to create the kind of love life they want — whether that means finding a soul mate for life, or a bedfellow for the night. We’ll be talking about sex, dating, relationships and more, using tarot as a guide to help us navigate our course. The show will be live every Friday night at 10 pm CST (That’s 11 pm EST/8 pm PST), and the very first episode will be tonight! The show lasts for thirty minutes, and I’ll be doing free one-card tarot readings for callers. You can call in at (347) 205-9267 to get a free reading. In the future, I hope to have guests on the show to talk to about love and relationships, as well as some of my fellow tarot readers. I hope you’ll tune in! And I’d love it if you’d spread the word with a reblog.Kisses!Hey guys!  Tonight I'm going to be doing something SUPER fun and exciting.. My friend Adana has invited me to be her guest on her radio show, Lust and Tarot.  If you don't know, Adana is the author of four tarot ebooks and two tarot decks.  She also offers lots of cool stuff on her website, the coolest of which I think is her latest idea, customized hand-painted Sigil Mugs.
Anyway, I've called in and/or participated in the chat room several times during her shows and I've always had a blast.  To give you an idea of what they're like, the last three titles were:

  • Spontaneous Creativity with the Knight of Wands (all about having sex for the first time with someone new.  And I called in and shared one of *my* personal stories for this one)
  • Unjust Stigma from the Five of Swords (where slut-shaming was discussed)
  • Know Thyself, Touch Thyself: Masturbation and the High Priestess (that's pretty self explanatory!)
So you get the general idea and themes, if the title didn't already give it away.  The show airs Fridays at 11pm EST. for half an hour.  This week's topic will be a surprise.. Adana will pull a card from her Erotic Tarot of Manara and we'll discuss from there.  I really hope that you'll join us and consider calling in!  If you're too shy to call, we'll also be in the chat room.  So put on your favorite pajamas, grab a glass of wine, and get ready for some Lust and Tarot with Adana and yours truly!

Intuition Boot Camp

So, Heather Woodward (The Empress of Tarot) is offering a FREE week-long Intuition Boot Camp.  I haven't been following along with Heather for very long, but so far I've liked what I've seen and this interests me greatly.

As a tarot reader, I have learned to use & trust my intuition.  There are times when the impressions I get are a little off the wall.  The cards tell me a story.  Sometimes they're soap-opera worthy dramas!  I love finding out the specific details after the reading is done, but I admit to a sort of nervousness... a stage fright, if you will.  What if my interpretation is completely wrong?  After I send my clients their readings, especially when it includes something that I picked up on totally out of the blue, I start to think of all the other stories that might have been told.  Here's the thing, though... I haven't been wrong.  At least, no one has told me I've been wrong!  The feedback I get is very positive.  Only one or two times have I been asked just to clarify something, and I'm always happy to explain anything about the readings I give.  So for example: when the Two of Swords pops up and my intuition tells me there's a pregnancy involved (even though none of the other cards are pointing that way), I go with it.  And I find out later that, yes, pregnancy was a BIG issue in the situation.

I don't claim to be psychic.  Some say that intuition is psychic ability though, and something that we can all access if we can override what we've been taught since early childhood: logic and reasoning above all else.  I'm really excited to learn more about intuition with Heather.  The class starts on February 1st and includes a super-secret Facebook group for those who join.  And I hope that if you're interested, you'll also sign up!  I'll look forward to seeing some of my tarot friends there!

Intuition

Your Own Worst Enemy

I've been doing a lot of tarot readings this week.  It helps, of course, that I'm off of work until Friday.  Mini vacation, right here!

Anytime I find myself doing almost back to back tarot readings, I'm surprised by how often I'll see a few cards.  I mean, hello, there are 78 cards in the deck, and I shuffle thoroughly between readings, I promise you.  So why do the same few cards pop up so damn often?   Well, because they have something to tell you, of course!

Lately the message is: the only person holding you back is YOU!  The Eight of Swords is the most familiar card in my decks.  I know that everyone interprets a little bit differently, but usually to me the Eight of Swords represents a feeling of hopelessness.  It's when you're in a  shitty situation, and you feel like there's not much, if anything, you can do about it.  Except you'd be wrong.  Despite all that you think, you're far from powerless and the key to your dilemma lies within you.

So why is it that we get stuck in this place?  Is it so we can avoid taking responsibility for our part in the situation?  Because there's something comfortable about indulging in self pity?   Or is it just that we're too close to the problem?  Whatever the reason, it's clearly something we all go through at one point or another.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I'm glad you've followed me here to Blogger.  I just couldn't fall in love with Wordpress.  I wanted to.  I really did, but it just wouldn't happen.  I'm comfortable here.  I hope you will be, too.

Please subscribe by email so you don't miss any posts, and of course you can find me in all of the familiar places (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr).

And, if you are a brand spankin' new follower, THANK YOU for visiting!

I may be under construction for a few days.  Please bear with me while I tinker!
