Slight Construction Ahead

This week I'm going to be updating the My Decks page and I think I'm going to "introduce" the Paulina and Radiant Rider-Waite in the same fashion that I have with the Universal, Fenestra, and Secret Tarots.  That way, if any of you would like to choose your deck when ordering a reading, you have a better idea of what the cards really look like.  And it's an excuse to take more pictures of my collection!  I'm going to be making some other updates to the blog too, so if you happen to visit and things look a little wonky.. well, that's why.  Oh, and let me apologize to anyone who's left a comment.  I only *just* figured out how to moderate them.  I thought I had it set to email me when comments were posted, but it wasn't.  And it had been so long that I actually forgot what platform I was using... I kinda feel like an idiot!  But it's all worked out now, so if you leave a comment, I will see it, and I'll reply too.  :)

And oh, remember my newsletter?  I only ever sent out one edition, and that was in February!  So I've been working on that, too.  If you haven't subscribed, you totally should.  I promise not to send more than one or two a month.

I've told myself that I am NOT buying another deck for awhile.  I'm going to try and hold off at least until my birthday, but there are a couple that are calling my name... the Silhouettes Tarot 2nd Edition is being released in June, ugh!  It's going to be hard to hold off on that one, but I'd much rather spend my money on something super fun for you guys!  (Wait, what?)

Yes, I'm planning a summer giveaway!  Look for more details probably in the middle of June, beginning of July.  I'm really super excited about it.

Introducing: the Secret Tarot

You were waiting for this, weren't you?  Secret Tarot, by Marco Nizzoli, is a bit different from standard RW decks.  Certain cards have a very different feel than what I'm used to, but it does the job.

Introducing: the Fenestra Tarot

Finally, the Fenestra Tarot!  (by Chatriya Hemharnvibu)  I did about ten mini readings with this deck yesterday, and let me tell you, I'm in love!  It's a no-nonsense deck, it's going to tell you what you need to hear in no uncertain terms and with no apologies.  Because it's so closely based on RW decks, it's super easy to work with.  And so far it seems to be remarkably consistent.  I'm only sorry that I didn't pick it up sooner.  The Paulina Tarot is pretty, but the Fenestra Tarot should have been my first deck.

I Couldn't Help Myself

I went and ordered two more tarot decks.

FINALLY I'll be the proud owner of the Fenestra Tarot.  This kind of means a lot to me.  When I was looking for my first deck, I almost ordered Fenestra.  I mean, I was SO close, but ultimately I thought the Paulina suited my personality more.  And I love my Paulina, don't get me wrong, but when hubby bought me the Radiant Rider-Waite for Christmas I realize that Paulina was a temperamental little deck!  So I started using my Radiant more often and it's become my "working" deck, but it's kind of boring to look at.  I think Fenestra would be a wonderful deck to work with on a daily basis.  And it's one of my original three favorites!  Universal Fantasy, Paulina, and Fenestra... I never thought I'd have all three, but it's kind of like a high now... I'm addicted to new decks!  Good thing I'm kind of picky or else I'd have a serious problem.  Have a look at my new baby (due next week) ;)

Yes, I did say I ordered two new decks.  What's the second one?  The Secret Tarot.  I haven't seen very many cards from this deck, which is kind of unusual for me.  Normally by the time I buy something I pretty much know what all of the cards look like.  So I'm looking forward to really exploring this deck when it comes.  I will say that I think Strength was the card that really caught my eye with this deck.  Strength and the Star.

The Secret Tarot Deck
Oh, and coincidentally.. or not really, because I don't believe in coincidences, but for lack of another word..  Coincidentally I've somehow misplaced my Radiant.  I have no idea where it could even be, it's not in any of the usual places and I don't take it anywhere.  So I couldn't have chosen a better time to order a new deck.

Another One for the Wishlist

Yes, I'm planning on buying another deck in the next few months or so, even though I'm still connecting with the Universal Fantasy (and I am in love with it, BTW!).  I was debating whether or not the Fenestra or Secret Tarot should be my next, when someone suggested the Tarot of the Trees.

Now, I'm pretty picky about my decks.  There are a lot of decks that everyone seems to want/own that I just have no interest in (Shadowscapes, Deviant Moon, Divine Legacy, etc).  So I wasn't really expecting this deck to grab my interest.

But
OH
MY
GLOB!

Just look at this little beauty!  You can find it here
